Choosing the right Level 3 Award in Wines course

The Academy offers WSET Level 3 Award in Wines in a number of formats throughout the year.

  • 16 weeks - 1 evening/day per week (2.5hrs) with the examination on the 16th evening/day.
  • 9 weeks -  1 day (Saturday) per week (5hrs) for 8 weeks with the examination on the 9th week.
  • 6 weeks - 2 sessions (evening & day) per week for 6 weeks with the examination on the 6th week.
  • 2 weeks intensive course. The examination will be timetabled three weeks after your classes. This course requires preparation and pre-reading of the study material prior to attending and is held each year in January.

You will need to study at home each week to successfully pass the examination. Please choose your course format carefully to suit your learning style. Whilst the Six (6), Nine (9) week and intensive courses may look convenient it is often the harder format and requires more study at home per week in a shorter period of time.

Contact the Academy if you would like to know the dates of future courses that may not be currently displayed on our website.

As part of your enrolment, you receive a Study Pack and, (for some courses) a set of 6 tasting glasses.  Once you have received your ‘Course Confirmation’ email, the Study Pack will be available for collection from TAFE NSW, Ryde Campus. Instructions regarding the collection of your Study Pack will be included in the course confirmation.  The tasting glasses will be issued during the first class.
