Mastering New Zealand Wine

Canterbury.Mt.Beautiful2

This course is designed for people who want to learn about the New Zealand wine industry.
The course covers in depth information of all the major wine growing regions as well as discussing New Zealand's wine history, viticulture, winemaking and future trends.

In addition to online study material there are three 2 hour classes, which will be held live online each week and recorded. Students will have access to an online wine tutor and will be expected to work through the online reading and taste a minimum of 3 recommended New Zealand wines and submit tasting notes for review. There are practice quizzes to undertake in preparation for an online multiple choice test in week 3 of the course.

The course follows a weekly structure, but it allows students to work ahead or catch up on the activities. The weekly sessions will be recorded and can be viewed at any time during the course. This enables students to participate in the course from all time zones.

Students are required to purchase their own wine and allowances are given to what is available on the local market. This course is suitable for members of the hospitality or wine industry and wine hobbyists who wish to gain comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand wine industry. It can be used as preparation for visits to New Zealand wine regions and will enhance your experience.

This course uses Connected learning. This is when students are learning with a teacher and each other via web conferencing technology as part of a virtual classroom.
