This course provides you with specialist training in the field of sommeliers and covers knowledge of both Australian and imported wine and skills in the sales and service of wine. Providing advice on food and beverage matching, the management of a wine outlet, and general knowledge of spirits and liqueurs are also a feature of this course. The course is suitable for people within the industry either working in or wishing to progress into the role of sommelier in a fine dining restaurant.
You can expect to do an additional at least 5.4 hours/week of self-directed study, which may include (e.g., Portfolio work, online learning, workplace learning, and self-study).
